Welcome to the World!

Hazel has finally joined us! My water broke around noon on the 25th of June. I called Brody who jumped in his car and headed to the hospital. Mom and I slowly got ourselves ready and headed out the door while Brody was already checking me in. He was ready to get the show on the road.

We got to the hospital and I was wheeled up to my room. Soon after getting into my stylish hospital gear and trying not to feel self-conscious about the open back, I realized that it was very hot in my room. I was not just being hormonal because mom and Brody felt the same way. We realized that the air was broken and heat was coming out of the vents. Remember that this is summer in Florida and my contractions were coming on heavy!!! The custodian was called to take a peek at what the problem could be. He came into the room with a ladder and proceeded to climb up to the vents while I am groaning in agony. He is even in some of the pictures which makes for a good memory!

After two hours of pushing to no avail, the doctor decided to do a c-section because Hazel's head was not in the right spot. At this time, the pain medication was wearing off and I had to endure serious pain while waiting to get into the operating room. After that experience, I decided that I did not want any other kids. Mena was right. It was a lot worse than I thought it would be. Once I got into the operating room, everything got going and by 1:57 am, she had entered the world screaming.
